On the occasion of the centenary of the birth of Étienne Bertrand Weill (1919-2001), the exhibition “Vers d’Autres Rives”, a dialogue between the photographs of Étienne Bertrand Weill and a selection of works from the Maria Wettergren Gallery took place from November 15th 2019 to February 1st 2020 at the Maria Wettergren Gallery, 18 rue Guénégaud, 75006 Paris.
Étienne Bertrand Weill (1919 – 2001) would have been one hundred years old.
To celebrate this anniversary, Maria Wettergren Gallery has chosen to present “Vers d’autres rives” (Towards Other Shores), a group exhibition in the form of a dialogue between the work of this photographer from the immediate post-war period and works of art and design from the gallery’s collection. Conceived in collaboration with the Étienne Bertrand Weill Archive, this event offers the opportunity to discover or revisit poetic images that should not be overlooked for their technical innovation, in a contemporary and kinetic context.
